The voice is not only an important communication tool, but also a part of our own personality. Regardless of the expectations placed on it or the way we habitually produce it, every vocal sound is legitimate and suitable for expressing any gender identity.
However, when dealing with one’s own identity, the desire sometimes arises to better understand the possibilities of one’s own voice and to develop a sound with which we can better express ourselves and feel recognized for who we are. The feeling that one’s own vocal sound does not fit one’s self-image is the starting point of all voice therapy – regardless of gender identity.

A Heilmittelverordnung (Muster 13) is a medical prescription issued by your doctor that authorizes voice therapy treatment. It is the official form used in Germany to prescribe speech and voice therapy covered by health insurance.
Your treating physician fills out the form, for example, with the diagnosis code R49.0 (Dysphonia), diagnosis group ST2, and prescribes voice therapy. You then bring this prescription to your first appointment with us.
Tip: Any physician (GP, ENT specialist, phoniatrist, endocrinologist) can issue this prescription. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us – we’ll be happy to help!
The decision on whether a prescription for voice therapy is necessary is always made by your physician.
